The Nevada Governor’s Conference on Tourism will culminate in an awards dinner to honor MGM Resorts International CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle as the Nevada Division of Tourism’s first Battle Born Legacy award recipient.
Hornbuckle started his career in Las Vegas as a room service attendant and busboy. From there, he continued to hone his skills through a range of leadership roles at various Las Vegas properties. Throughout his career, he has been an advocate for tourism across Las Vegas and greater Nevada, having served on several industry boards and associations, including the Nevada Governor’s Council on Tourism. More recently, Hornbuckle has been instrumental in Las Vegas’ evolution, helping shape the city into the entertainment and sports capital it is today.
As Chair of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, Bill lends his expertise by advising the Secretary of Commerce on policies and programs that impact the industry, while also offering guidance on current and emerging issues to help shape its future.
